Salt have partnered with a hugely innovative immersive 3D software company building spatial technology for various markets. They intend to transform entire industries through their technology and data acquisition so it’s no surprise their team is made up of world class people, a vast amount with PhD’s from leading universities.

Machine learning, Big data, VR/AR, innovative hardware and computer vision are some of the things they are working with.

A large round of funding in process and a vision that entails moving into 20 new cities over the next 18 months. Moving from anything related to spatial technology to creative full immersive worlds.

The business has just raised a very large series A round to allow a substantial runway to expand and innovate.

The Role

As Head of Product You will maintain the vision the business has of world domination within the Immersive space. The role will be a balance of optimising current product verticals as well as influencing key stakeholders (founders) during rapid growth and innovation. This is an innovation start-up with a strong team and product but with a lot of moving parts. You must be able to balance a lot of plates and determine when trade-offs are to be made

Working on the shoulders of the founders you will be a visionary, a leader and strategist. You will supervise a team of 5 very strong lead Product managers and iterate a rapid pace across web, app, and hardware. The Head of Product will deliver B2B and B2C products and back end processes and features as well as digital supply chain.

The Head of product role requires a lot of collaboration and engagement with the team and founders. A strong commercial mindset and operational understanding is key. You’ll grow a deep understanding of this ever-growing market and become a key decision maker on the vision of the business.

The Head of Product role requires fluid and strong communication skills and continuous, active engagement with the Pupil team and – most importantly – Pupil’s Founders. A strategic, commercial mindset is also important at the Head of Product will be a key decision maker regarding feature set. They should have an airtight understanding of the market, the Pupil customer and the Pupil business, and be equally as comfortable on business side as they are the technology side.

There will be 5 direct reports made up of very strong vertical lead product managers. Each vertical is a team of 5 made up of engineers UX and the product leads.

Key skills needed

• Product leadership in a very fast paced environment. Motivate, inspire and deliver.

• Ability to deliver a global roadmap while managing high expectations of the founding team

• Team management experience. 3+ direct reports minimum

• SaaS Product management experience from a reputable brand.

• Start-up/scale-up experience. Moving at pace so must be able to wear multiple hats

• Global scale experience. Understanding of nuances related to each market
