Just in, I am working with an award-winning, independent, research company providing data and intelligence to the financial industry. Investment professionals use this company’s online products to obtain key information for business-critical decision-making. Their clients include fund managers, legal firms, institutional investors, financial advisers, and placement agents.

Primarily a data company; they are a fast-moving fintech with a strong growth record and a world-wide staff base.

They are looking for a Freelance Product Lead to join their Platform team to work on transformational projects that go to the very heart of their business and help enable the consolidation of two product teams.

Role Overview:

Reporting into the Head of Platform, Head of Data Operations, and other key stakeholders, you will help oversee the successful delivery of the road-map for the Business unit and remove blockers for the team. You will be expected to mentor some of their Product Owners and Business Analysts, helping them to take feedback from clients and internal stakeholders into actionable business requirements for the Engineering team. The role will have a key focus on highly technical solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the Head of Platform and Head of Data Operations to help define product strategy and assist with strategic and operational decision making
• Support team members in prioritising the product backlog to deliver new products and solutions, and to enhance existing products enabling direct data delivery to their clients and partners
• Support Product Owners in running effective workshops and discovery sessions
• Support the wider Product and Engineering team with ad-hoc tasks as required

Key Requirements for this Role:

• A demonstrable track record of delivering products on time and on budget
• Comfortable with presenting to, and gaining buy in from Senior stakeholders
• Experience of organisation change management
• Strong experience of the software development process and Agile methodologies
• Demonstrable experience of mentoring more junior staff
• Able to spend a minimum of 2 days per week in their London office

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience of working with APIs, SDKs, and ETL/ELT
• Previous direct line management experience
• Experience in the Financial sector would an advantage
