Freelance Product Designer

YOUR ROLE…

Contract Length: 6 months – £350 a day – Outside IR35 – Remote

They are looking for a remote freelance Product Designer to join the Product Development team to facilitate, generate and deliver exceptional digital experiences to their plus users.

You’ll ensure the highest levels of craft and execution and be involved at every stage of the product development process and use your knowledge of user experience design, visual design, and interaction design to craft a product their users can’t live without.

Your responsibilities are:

• Partner with product managers to work towards roadmap goals and helping to define them
• Run unmoderated and moderated user research sessions and present findings to relevant stakeholders and team members
• Translating qualitative and quantitative data from research into insights to shape the product with a user-centred focus
• Working through design problems from concept to delivery
• Experience using or contributing to a design system
• Deliver final visual designs of your solutions using Figma to hand off for engineering
• Working closely with engineering team to ensure finished designs are easily available for them and the developed output matches the design hand off
• Ability to produce and communicate thoughtful users flows based on user goals
• Sketch, wireframe and prototype ideas rapidly

You will:

• Be a champion of customer-centric design, always looking to solve real user problems,
• Be comfortable owning the full end-to-end design process using user-centered design principles and methods,
• Be self-motivated, proactive, and able to demonstrate strong understanding of user experience and design
• Embrace agile and iteration, and are comfortable with change
• Recognise assumptions (including your own) and seek ways to try and invalidate them,
• Have a user-centric mindset with a solid understating of the importance of qualitative and quantitative research

ESSENTIAL BITS + PIECES

• A minimum of 3 years designing digital products as a product designer/UX/UI designer
• A strong portfolio that demonstrates your process from initial problem to launch
• Comfortable working with data to understand user problems
• Proven design experience within your portfolio of working for consumer facing app/s
• Experience using modern design tools like Figma
• Experience with work management tools like Jira, Asana and Google Suite (nice to have)
• Experience contributing to design systems
• Experience in performing moderated and unmoderated user testing and concept validation
• Experience conducting user research
• Excellent eye for aesthetic design and customer appeal / Strong visual skills
• Experience working with startups with at least one launched product (nice to have)
