Lead Designer – AI / Healthtech – Up to £65,000

My client are an intelligent software platform that matches people with medical research, and provides personalised insights and recommendations based on their data. The platform is private by design, and puts users in full control over their data.

They are currently looking for a talented and creative designer to join their rapidly growing team. As the first design employee, you will bring the brand to life through design and play a key role in shaping the platform’s visual identity. My client need a skilled, experienced, and motivated designer who can take ownership of the design system. They currently have someone working as a designer + front-end developer, so you wouldn’t be completely alone in the design team, but you would be the main person setting design direction and taking on design tasks such as

• Prototyping new ideas and site-areas
• Designing beautiful new features
• Creating visuals assets that will be used in pitch decks and case study materials across the company
• Creating collateral to be used for marketing and advertising purposes
• Using your design judgement to select photos and other imagery – and keeping an eye on the use of visuals across the site
• Creating diagrams to explain complicated concepts, and designing for ease of use
• They use Figma as our design tool but it is quite easy to pick up on and they do not require prior experience with it

Requirements

• Online portfolio of designs and work that you have created demonstrating a high level of design skill and judgement
• Experience designing responsively for the web and different devices
• Experience implementing (or creating!) brand/design guidelines
• An understanding of accessibility issues like contrast levels, along with the need for image optimisation
• Knowledge of (and ideally experience implementing) UX design principles (user personas, wireframes etc.)
• Bonus points for experience with animation but not required to apply
