Freelance Product Designers, will the market ever slow down? Let’s hope not : )

Well if you are becoming free then I am working with a fab credit score company who are looking for a freelance Product Designer to start asap for 3-6 months. I have placed lots of freelancers here before and the team and clients are so good to work with : )

They are looking for a product designer to join their Design System team. They want to improve the quality and consistency of their products by building design systems, guidelines, and tools to support designers and engineers. You will play a critical role in defining the core components of this design system.

If you want to help people take control of their finances, then you have the opportunity to shape the next generation of consumer financial services that can make this happen.

You will be part of a team responsible for creating UI components for products and features used by millions in the UK.

They have recently created a brand-new visual identity for their financial products, and they are excited about creating UI components that bring this new visual identity to life. It is an exciting time to come on board, as you will have the opportunity to empower their strategic design vision and make a massive impact on how millions of people across the UK use their products.

As part of the design system team, you will be responsible for creating the foundations patterns, UI components, tools, and documentation that empowers the clients strategic design vision.

The Design System team is new, so you also get to play a key role in establishing an effective design & delivery process with fellow designers and engineers – as well as the design system product owner.

Most of your work will be remote but you may need to occasionally visit their London office.

The awesome things you will do:

• Work in a design system team to elevate the quality of their design language by building out foundational patterns, UI components, tools, and documentation.
• Define the core components of the design system, specifying UX, visual, interaction and motion elements as well as documenting design guidelines behaviours.
• Actively share knowledge on how to utilise the design system.
• Collaborate with UI engineers who build and maintain design systems in code, and to ensure proper implementation through detailed specification and quality control.
• Conduct usability testing to ensure new UI components are usable and intuitive.

What would be cool if you have:

• Experience maintaining and evolving pattern libraries and creating design systems.
• Experience in designing and deploying design systems at scale.
• Well-developed skills in UI, brand, and product design.
• Experience practising the broad range of activities involved in product design; ideation, conceptualisation, prototyping and validation/testing, UI design and more.
• Ability to bring concepts to life through clickable prototypes using Figma.
