Service Designer

Are you free in the next week for the next 5 months for a remote role for a brilliant charitable organisation?

Amazing as I am working with an independent organisation specialising in confidential information and advice to assist people with legal, debt, consumer, housing, and other problems.

They are looking for an experienced freelance Service Designer to join their Service Design team and help them design services that meet the needs of millions of people across the UK.

In this role, you’ll work with service users, frontline staff, subject matter experts and stakeholders; you’ll be leading the design process as part of multifunctional teams that may include user researchers, product designers, content designers and delivery experts. You’ll help them create and improve services that are people-centred, inclusive, impactful, and effective.

As a Senior Service Designer in a multi-level team, you will also be mentoring and coaching their Service Designers, and you’ll be line managing up to two team members.

The awesome things you will be doing:

• Working to understand what their users need, and contributing to the strategic direction of their services
• Generating service concepts and propositions that build strong cases for commissioning
• Planning and facilitating co-design workshops that engage a range of people in the design process
• Actively prototyping and testing design ideas, supporting colleagues to take a design-led approach
• Developing and coaching designers, line managing up to two team members and contributing to a positive, open and collaborative team culture

They are looking for someone who can see the bigger picture, is able to work strategically, and can lead the design of projects with confidence and empathy.
