UX/UI Design Consultant – Banking

Job Summary

An accomplished UX designer with practical knowledge of UX methodologies is required to join a World Renowned financial services provider. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in developing the UX / UI capabilities of a global financial services organisation, where the focus will be on practical delivery.

Core Duties

• Developing personas and user journeys to fit specific solutions fir for delivery
• Delivering UX Process and UI Design Components for the entire product cycle
• Reporting updating and fact finding requirements with product owners and business analysts to ensure this is validated with user needs
• Creating low and High fidelity prototypes to support testing and then demonstrating solutions to key stakeholders
• Identifying and applying relevant research methods that engage users.
• Analysis of feedback from research and testing. Transitioning this in an iterative manner to enhance design output
• Working alongside the development team to support and create solutions whilst displaying good communication and relevant methods to delivery and UI designs such as Zeplin
• Creating design solutions for cross platform delivery- primarily in Mobile, Tablet and Web applications
• Working with the wider brand and design team to ensure compliance and to maximise full leverage for the corporate brand
• Maintaining awareness of relevant technology trends and UX best practice, both internally and externally that are appropriate and relevant to solutions and concept delivery
• Building and maintaining expectations and relationships and communicating with stakeholders across both the business and technology groups, both internal and external audiences in both one on one settings and in workshop environments

Experience and requirements

Essential:

• Strong UI/UX design experience, including formal methods
• Extensive experience running user tests and analysis to inform decision in the design and development of software
• Extensive experience of developing wireframes, personas, user journeys, prototypes and UI designs as part of an overall solution design
• Significant exposure to rapid wireframing tools such as Axure or similar
• Expertise in UI component design for a final solution and delivery of these assets to the development team using Sketch, Zeplin or other relevant software
• Experience of product design within an agile environment
• Experience engaging and influencing business and technology stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to achieve consensus across disparate stakeholder groups and evolving UX design to account for this feedback
• First-rate communication skills and ability to apply these to rapid, creative problem solving in a pressurised environment
• Experience of understanding complex business processes, involving multiple stakeholder groups and persona types and designing user experiences to accommodate these
• Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team, to tight deadlines, manage priorities and take responsibility for delivering to time and quality requirements
• Working to accessibility standards, including WCAG and knowledge of accessibility obligations in the UK
• A demonstrable portfolio of latest work / achievements

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a financial services organisation
• BSc/BA degree qualified
