A little bit about the role

Rewarding colleagues for their performance against targets is important to foster a competitive sales environment that motivates our sales teams to be the best in the market. This job makes sure accurate and timely payments are made based on the appropriate payment plan so that our colleagues are rewarded for their hard work. This job also ensures commission payments are made to our indirect channel partners which contributes to maintaining and growing positive commercial relationships.

Your responsibilities

  • Accountable for the team responsible for the administration of the Bonus/Commission calculation process in line with agreed SLAs and auditable standards for the following customers:
  • Internal bonus payments to sales colleagues
  • Working with the Business Units to ensure the collation of accurate data; to ensure data exchanged is accurate and credible on which the team can calculate bonus/commission bonus awards
  • Escalation point working with business partners to identify and resolve data quality issues
  • Ensure the teamwork to governance principles and compliance parameters within the confines of the agreed sales and bonus plans
  • Challenge the business on requests that fall outside of payment calendar cut-off dates, to ensure the team achieve key metrics and service levels
  • Manage the team resources levels to ensure all payment cycles are achieved and contingency plans are in a place where there are productivity spikes
  • Handling and resolving commission queries and escalations, analysing the root cause of queries, and recommending solutions to address repeatable errors
  • Responsible for performing data quality checks on the Bonus/commission payments, and proactively resolving any issues
  • Responsible for building relationships with our sales, commercial and finance functions to support the end-to-end process
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate data files are sent on time to payroll
  • Work with the business to suggest and support business improvement initiatives as we transition to a new system which will require a new way of working to improve operational excellence and drive efficiencies through the process

What are we looking for in our Reward Team Leader?

  • Experience in leading a sales bonus commission team dealing with payment plans and sales commissions for employees and small business
  • Experience working in a dynamic fast-paced corporate environment, managing a range of priorities and deadlines
  • Experience working with sales, commercial and finance functions
  • Experience working in an HR reward function or similar commercial function
  • CIMA foundation would be advantageous

Essential (technical) skills:

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel & Access Database (e.g. VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, pivot tables, “IF” statements)
  • Knowledge of working with, manipulating and critically evaluating large complex data sets
