Leading Telecoms client

Location: Reading, Greenpark – Ideally in 1 day a week on Tuesdays which is Digital day (possibility of needing to be in 2 days a week)

Salary: £75K – £85K + 10% on target bonus & a £6K car allowance.

This role gives one the opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading telecoms companies going through a major transformation and the digital experience is at the heart of that. They are in the process of implementing a brand-new technology stack that will deliver radically improved digital and omnichannel journeys and features to provide a market-leading experience that will delight customers.

This client requires a Digital Data Scientist to take over and own this role providing analysis and insights to help drive a data-led product development culture. Our client runs an open-source platform called DataBricks providing a collaborative environment amongst fellow colleagues. Python or Alteryx is the preferred stack used to produce and build models. You will work closely with product owners in order to underpin the data in everything where you would be required to be able to build a business plan referring back to learnings from past experiences and approaches. Collaboration with other teams such as the centralised data science and the digital visualisation teams is essential in educating and showcasing your work and insights.

  • A/B Testing
  • Product Development
  • Product & Content recommendations/Personalisation
  • Propensity/Churn/Acquisition Modelling

Skills & Experience required:

  • Experienced Data Scientist with extensive experience in the digital domain.
  • Technical expertise in experimentation, data mining and data science approaches to predict, optimise and categorise outcomes leading to data-led product development.
  • Competent understanding of web analytic tools such as Adobe Analytics / Google Analytics.
  • Passionate about producing high-quality insights that drive feature development with engaging communication of results to a broad audience.
  • At ease working with complex data sets applying strong technical coding skills in Python / R / SQL to develop analytical solutions.
  • Strong visual design skills in bringing complex insights to life with applications like Tableau / D3 / Rshiny.
  • Self-starter with the ability to demonstrate self-direction, and take others on a journey to achieve outcomes.
  • Collaboration skills to work across the organisation with virtual teams and stakeholders, leading the digital data-led agenda.
