Digital Capability Manager


Surrey Contract / 6 Months £400.00 - £500.00 per day

My client, a global FMCG business, is looking for a Digital Capability Manager to assist the business move through an important period of digital transformation within their Marketing function as they look to bring more in-house and move to a more precision data model of marketing.

The role

My client are looking for an experienced, driven, motivated and highly capable Digital Transformation and Change Manager to be one of the key change agents for their UK&I Digital Transformation.

You will assist to deliver the digital capability agenda for the UK and Ireland organisation, embed a consumer experience excellence mindset and way of working through continuous improvement within the broader digital transformation, and translate the capability strategy into actionable plans and execute flawlessly.

You will have 3+ years’ experience working on digital transformation projects in a big conumer company ideally.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, own and execute the digital change and capability development agenda across the UKI business
  • Drive the adoption of key digital tools and capabilities being rolled out across the business across content, media, ecommerce and data marketing
  • Build strong digitally minded teams by upskilling marketing teams and supporting the recruitment of digital bright sparks into the organisation
  • Measure and track the implementation of digital capability building and propose innovative solutions to adjust the plan and solve challenges in an agile way
  • Evangelise a digital mindset including driving the adoption of data-driven, performance marketing culture, experimentation, learning and iteration
  • Key member of theUKI Digital Transformation programme headed up by the Digital Director and sponsored by the UK&I General Manager
    • Lead one of the key programme work streams to drive continuous improvement in online consumer experiences
    • Work collaboratively with the Digital Transformation Director and Category Digital Leads to develop plans to de-silo and optimise the ways of working to more effectively deliver consumer experience excellence across the MCO
    • Be a leading change agent in implementing and embedding a new marketing and ecommerce operating model (working with the Marketing Change Director) where data driven marketing and agile ways of working are the new norm

What you’ll need to be successful?

  • Possess a patient, calm approach. This project is starting cold and this person will need to be sympathetic and empathetic to where the business is at and build trusting relationships
  • A track record of developing & executing digital change and capability strategies including use of digital as a competitive advantage
  • Demonstrable experience in transforming large organisations through disruptive digital change
  • Strong understanding of Consumer Journey mapping and Consumer Experience management, activating reach/ engagement opportunities and driving conversion across key touch-points.
  • Cross-discipline digital knowledge including but not limited to Social and Search, data driven marketing and an appreciation of emerging technology including voice and AI.
  • Experience in agile ways of working preferred
