Join this global retail giant as they go through a period of digital transformation and growth.

You will be responsible for providing insightful reporting and business intelligence around supply chain and logistics, with a view to optimizing and driving efficiency of process.

As the company pivots towards ecommerce, you will need to think strategically about how this change will impact supply chain and logistics, providing recommendations around how to adapt processes both locally here in the UK, and in turn globally for other countries.

You will need to understand how distribution centers operate and how automation can be effective, and how insights can inform decisions around future proofing plans and processes, as well as help with new market approaches. Acting as a conduit between buying and merchandising teams, translating forecasted sales data into logistics data and working to support decision making in these areas. You will also work with trading center teams, helping to plan what products and merchandise is needed when and in what volume, what ranges need to be in store for supply purposes etc.

Technically you will need to have advanced Excel skills and ideally coding abilities in SQL, as well as dashboarding and visualization skills using a tool such as Tableau or PowerBI.

You will work in a business facing capacity, engaging key stakeholders in buying and merchandising, supply chain, logistics and warehousing – an understanding of the mechanics of ecommerce warehousing is key for this role.

Skills required:

  • Educated to degree level in a numerate subject, such as Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Psychology
  • Expert Excel user, ideally coupled with skills in using SQL for data analysis, manipulation and reporting purposes
  • Ability to build engaging and insightful dashboards using reporting tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik or Looker
  • A background in retail is strongly preferred, specifically ecommerce warehousing and operations; it’s important you understand the mechanics of supply chain, logistics, trading and buying (particularly across website and app) in order to be able to provide actionable recommendations on how to improve overall supply chain and logistics processes
  • Ability to work with a number of different data sources, pulling them together to provide a holistic view of process performance
  • Confident, pro-active and ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
