Senior Digital Media Planner (Contract)

Greater London Contract / 6 Months £300 - £400 per day

Salt has partnered with an Award Winning – Global Marketing Tech Agency focusing on B2B Clients covering Digital, social media, events, mail and telemarketing. They are looking for a Senior Digital Media Planner for a Maternity Cover role.

Looking for a Senior Digital Media Planner to help out on a contract basis (5-6 months) to cover for another employee on special assignment.

The Senior Digital Media Planner is a digitally focused B2B Tech expert leveraging on their experience in the field. This role is focused on the media planning and buying aspect of demand generation for our clients. This role works closely with Account Managers, Digital Campaign Manager(s), mentoring them, and overseeing partner buys and media planning across clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for digital media buying and planning through all steps of the planning process from arranging RFPs, partner evaluations, partner scoring, negotiations and final execution based on the goals and objectives of the campaign(s).
  • End-to-end coordination and management of approved buys including creation of IOs, negotiating terms, overseeing trafficking and coordination of creative/deliverables, and ongoing reporting and optimization of the partner mix
  • Proactively working with client services on campaign set-up and optimization strategy
  • Work with the Digital Campaign Manager(s) to provide analytical insights to the client
  • Responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of work produced for our clients
  • Develop agency points of view on media opportunities for submission to the client
  • Develop ongoing testing roadmaps for your channel(s) to continually improve performance
  • Provide clear recommendations and requests to the clients when needed – such as for new assets or landing pages
  • Work with Digital Campaign Manager(s) to track and manage the delivery of programs, ensure that partner delivery is in accordance with the IO terms and negotiating make-goods where necessary
  • Ongoing investigation & research of new media opportunities
  • Ability to serve as primary client facing media campaign resource and subject matter expert
  • Guide execution of customized strategy and recognizing performance of SEM, display, content syndication, and paid social campaigns of B2B clients across multiple platforms
  • Supports performance analysis including identifying performance drivers, recommending an appropriate course of action, evaluating progress and escalating as necessary
  • Able to self-direct work and provide hands-on instructional guidance to junior team members, overseeing their work efforts
  • Demonstrates leadership and knowledge sharing amongst their peer group and junior team members
  • Stays current on industry insights and innovation, seeking to test/incorporate into campaign management activities
  • Adheres and contributes to operational best practices
  • Actively engages in departmental initiatives

Skills, Competence and Experience

  • 4+ years of experience in B2B Tech media buying
  • 6-7 years of experience in media planning or similar
  • Advanced knowledge of digital marketing channels and concepts
  • Knowledge of and experience with B2B Tech Content Syndication landscape for lead generation and other programs (e.g. IDG, TechTarget, iSMG, Infuse Media, etc.)
  • Hands on experience with Google AdWords, LinkedIn, Programmatic/Native Experience with 1:Many ABM and media technologies related to it
  • Proven ability to produce creative and detailed media plans in Excel and proposals in PPT on a regular basis for clients based on briefs and meetings
  • Agency experience is required for this role
  • Client-facing experience and digital marketing experience are a must
  • Knowledge of key EMEA B2B Tech markets–DACH, France–a big plus. Especially if fluent in either German or French, with German language skills being the most preferable.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills, ability to find opportunities and insights from large amounts of unstructured data
  • Previous mentorship/management experience is a bonus
  • Hands-on experience with lead management tools such as Integrate is strongly preferred
  • Superb time and project management skills
  • Excellent communication – both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to proactively organize daily tasks and prepare list of to-do’s
  • Keen problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
