Junior Channel Manager | ASAP Start | 12 month contract | up to £100 per day

My client is one of the world’s leading media and entertainment companies – their portfolio of work spans across marketing, entertainment, news, film and TV and is broadcast to a global audience.

They’re currently looking for a Junior Channel Manager, who will be responsible for full day to day management for a portfolio of global YouTube channels. Working to maximise their performance by undertaking the daily, weekly and monthly activities and delivering results against departmental requirements and maximising operational performance.

The role will be responsible for working within a team of Channel Managers to meet and exceed business objectives; ensuring that key financial, operational and quality metrics are consistently achieved. This includes the day-to-day operation and maintenance of a number of YouTube channels spanning a wide array of children’s and entertainment brands. These tasks will include creating upload schedules, updating channel artwork, some editing and transcoding videos, reading and moderating comments, and a general adherence to YouTube’s guidelines and best practices.

The Junior Channel Manager will be expected to execute on a strategy to grow the networks YouTube channels, laying out the necessary content and engagement activity needed to achieve that growth. The function will be expected to perform ongoing YouTube viewership analysis using multiple analytics tools in order to validate existing strategies and provide information to guide programming, marketing, and investment decisions going forward.

The Junior Channel Manager will be required to work with internal stakeholders and internal brand managers, regularly communicating with these groups to ensure that all channels adhere to brand guidelines and that all required materials are received.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Programming a portfolio of YouTube channels
• Some Editing and transcoding of videos desired
• Translating videos (dubbing & subbing)
• Creating, and commissioning, channel graphics
• Writing and editing metadata and copy for videos and channels
• Optimizing titles, descriptions, and keywords to be SEO
• Continual analysis YouTube analytics and other data sources
• Ensuring channels adhere to YouTube best practices
• Ensuring content adheres to company policy, as well as quality and brand requirements
• Keeping up to date with YouTube platform developments, trends and training

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS

• Six months YouTube channel management experience, or similar experience running social media channels
• Knowledge of YouTube Content ID a major plus
• Proficiency using Photoshop
• Proficiency in video editing using Premiere and/or Final Cut
• Familiarity with the YouTube platform
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint
• Second language preferable
• Demonstrable knowledge of and interest in successful YouTube brands, channels and creators

• A university degree (Business, Digital Media, Video Production ideal, but not essential)
