Salary £85,000 – £90,000 Base competitive with Bonus and shares

My client is a world leading investor in the Digital Assets and Web 3 space. They are a forward-thinking company who has had huge success in first few years of trading building out a client book of over 200 Web3 businesses. Offering three different services they accommodate consumers and business from small to large enterprises. This is a scale up business with a strong presence in the UK and Europe but are looking to tap into Latin America and APAC markets. Due to rapid growth they are making a number of key hires across the business.

One of these roles is for their first Communications hire who will build their PR and Communication’s functions from scratch. They are now looking to bring in a very senior Head of Communications and PR to step into complex yet rewarding position. The ideal candidate will come from a similar industry but Web 3 experience is preferred. You will have ample experience covering PR globally including handling tier 1 media coverage. You will be good at creating new relationships and should have some strong connections to bring to the table. You will be able to fit within a scale up culture, being comfortable working in a environment not driven by process or structure. Report directly to the CMO you will grow their communications function and create a strong brand presence across the Globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a highly-effective “tier one” communications and pr strategy
  • Lead global pitching of proactive news stories to influential global media outlets
  • Coordinate with local teams across the organisation’s globally decentralised team to ensure a coherent global story
  • Seek out content and partnership opportunities to promote thought leadership, including speaking engagements and platforms
  • Develop and manage internal and external communications strategy around issues and sensitivities, including positioning statements and reputation management
  • Monitor new legislation and compliance trends, opportunities and stories across the globe in the cryptocurrency sector
  • Develop crisis comms plans, holding statements and scenario planning for potential issues, including litigation, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity/breaches and more

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience as a global communications leader
  • 2-3+ years of experience working in a Web3 or leading Web2 tech company
  • You have the ability to manage complex issues quickly and effectively with a proven record of building successful communications campaigns.
  • In-depth knowledge of global media with deep understanding and relationships with key journalists.
  • Experience advising C-suite executives on media relations and issues management
  • Highly-effective team leader, with a proven track record in managing multi-country teams
  • Experienced in managing a broad network of PR agencies
  • Able to work autonomously with minimal supervision and strong follow up skills; proactive and collaborative
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills; able to prioritise and work under pressure
  • Works well in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience working with media/reporters, notably in the financial, business or cryptocurrency sector
  • Experience in public policy or affairs and media
