THE COMPANY
My client is a growth tech brand that focuses on their subscription proposition which is a searchable database of the fastest-growing start-ups and scaleups. Their offering is taken up by VCs, Research companies and potential partners. With nearly 50 people in their London office, their story of success has been compelling.
As they enter the next stage of growth, they are now looking for a Head of Marketing to lead a team and take the demand generation activities and brand positioning to the next level.
THE ROLE
They are looking for a highly ambitious marketer to play a crucial role in the next stages of our growth. The Head of Marketing will play a major part in positioning the brand as a leader in our target markets, driving high levels of customer acquisition and revenue growth, and becoming a important part of our strategy team.
Reporting to the CEO, this role will lead a team of 3-4, including content creators, designers, and CRM/automation specialists, have control of a £300k+ budget, and oversee the appointment of external agency support as necessary.
There is large opportunity for growth, with the potential to join a senior strategic oversight team with responsibility for setting the direction of the business as a whole.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Delivering the customer growth and revenue targets, both through new customer acquisition, retention of existing customers and product-mix management
  • Develop and execute an integrated marketing strategy (content, events, paid media, PR, organic, social etc) to drive growth through brand awareness in key markets, targeted lead generation and customer retention
  • Set and exceed ambitious growth marketing targets, with input and oversight by the CEO
  • Work closely with Head of Account Management and Head of Sales to put in place retention and lead generation campaigns and processes
  • Support Sales and Account Management teams with collateral, processes and campaigns to help drive qualified leads and key client retention
  • Together with Communication Design Manager, build and maintain a brand position as a respected authority across target markets
  • Line manage 3-4 team members and oversee skills and career development
  • Play a key role in setting company objectives and growth strategy
  • Communicate goals, performance and strategy to teams and individuals across the company, including leading internal marketing presentations to the company
  • Develop and manage mechanisms to share industry developments and knowledge to colleagues
  • Develop and maintain reporting structures to the senior team and other departments
  • Put in place and maintain industry best practice across all our marketing

  • You should therefore be an experienced marketer with a clear focus on growing ambitious, high-growth companies. We’re looking for someone who can find crucial detail from data, is willing to get stuck in to every part of the marketing mix to optimise performance and is a top-class team-builder and people-manager. We want to see evidence of – or real potential for – marketing leadership.

Please ONLY apply if you possess the following:

  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree from a top University
  • At least 5 years’ experience in challenging B2B marketing roles (ideally technology), but other backgrounds considered
  • Experienced in setting – and exceeding – KPIs and metrics
  • Experienced in leading a marketing team and line managing employees
  • Tech-savvy, with experience of a variety of digital marketing tools across all channels
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a critical thinker
  • Motivated and enthusiastic; a great communicator and relationship-builder
  • Highly numerate and comfortable with analysis, forecasting and projections
  • Experienced in building brand profile
  • Experience managing a significant budget
  • Able to work as part of a small team and run projects autonomously
  • Interest in start-ups, disruption and high-growth businesses
