Senior Shopper Marketing Manager

My client is investing in category and shopper expertise within their Consumer and Market Intelligence (CMI) team in order to demonstrate our extensive knowledge of consumer and shopper behaviour coupled with their market share position within the industry, to elevate their relationship with our retailer partners and drive category value growth and shopper delight.

My client has created a new function whose purpose is to develop and deploy category management and shopper experience programmes for each of their categories across all European markets.

The team is responsible for shopper insights, market capability assessments, retail management and the path to purchase shopper experience to drive changing shopper behaviour within their key Partner’s stores and deliver category value growth.

  • Identify and develop category /shopper opportunities in our key partners across Europe and support the development of local and international joint business plans.
  • Track category performance related to retailer presence vs market / channel and develop growth opportunities based on identified growth drivers.
  • Engage retailers with recommended ranging, comms, layout principles based on insights.
  • Develop subsidiaries capabilities by implanting the shopper approach within the countries with an aim to drive the programme locally and help overcome commercial challenges.

  • High self-motivation with the ability to identify opportunities and translate them into ideas, solutions, initiatives that directly impact business retail performance & shopper satisfaction.
  • Ability to engage and influence senior leaders and their teams both internally and externally.
  • Solid experience (7+ years) working within an FMCG organisation adept in category management / shopper programmes including retail management / operations at a European level. Experience and insights within consumer electronics business an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills and programme management essential.
  • Solid understanding for how to apply business / category strategy and insights to impact sales
  • Ability to handle multiple data sources and consolidate and simplify into efficient insights and delivery programs
  • Comfortable with interpretation of data sets and application to the business
  • Concrete understanding of how to build solid working relationships and communication with partners globally, locally and locally.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work with people across multiple teams that do not work or report directly to CMI and the RMI team.
