Supply Chain & Logistic Operations Manager (Contract)

Surrey Contract / 6 / 12 months £200.00 - £300 per day

I am currently working with a global retail client who are looking for a Supply Chain & Logistics Operations Manager, this role is pivotal and will lead their efforts to forecast across the entire team covering, unit/orders/sales down to SKU level. From this you will deliver forecasts and plans for their key partner groups of stock management, divisional sales teams, supply chain and contact centres.

To be successful in this role you should be familiar with supply chain procedures and online business operation, and have good communication skills to interact with external operation team as well as and internal teams.


Ultimately, you will increase this clients forecasting accuracy and stock availability.
The role will also support the wider roles of the operations team across logistics and customer contact management and improvement.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Clarity on forecasting our sales forecast;
  • Working with the divisional teams to make sure agreed availability and over/aged stock levels;
  • Handle ageing stock levels and liaise with our promotions team to build solutions to clear;
  • Work with the trading/merchandising teams to ensure products are merchandise relevant to stock levels;
  • Ensure new products are available on time and EOL are removed from the website;
  • Help build our full (and extended range) range online;

Key deliverables:

  • Forecast models for sales/units/orders/ customer contacts
  • Forecast supply and demand to prevent overstocking and running out-of-stock (OOS)
  • Weekly stock report including stock level, aged stock, run-rate and week of stock
  • Purchase order management (e.g. accessories, memory cards and 3rd party products)
  • Weekly forecasts updates and review aligned to promotion plans
  • STO (Stock Transfer Order) management
  • Stock status monitoring (Stock-out and over-stock
  • New product registration requests
  • Planning for warehouse pick & pack operation
  • Delivery performance review with carriers
  • Following-up delivery issues with the CS team (delay, failure, return and replacement)
  • Analyse sell-out reporting (seasonality and promotion performance)
  • Working closely with the senior management team to manage and update stock and forecast

Skills Needed:

  • You will have a good understanding of supply chain procedures;
  • You will demonstrate strong analytical skills;
  • You will have solid IT/systems use (SAP), with good excel skills;
  • You will have a working knowledge of software related to demand planning is preferred;
  • You will be experienced in managing internal communications, working cross functionally to deliver results;
  • Finally, you will have strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas and levels of the business affecting the forecast process.
