Commercial Director

Greater London Permanent £80000.00 - £100000.00 per annum

We are searching for a Commercial Director for a fiercely independent challenger digital consultancy. They deliver strategic, advisory and implementation projects for enterprise clients across touch points from brand to operational infrastructure. Everything they do is focused on improving their clients position and it always starts with a deep dive into the business and really understanding the goals and desires of the leadership.

With the abilities and capabilities the big players have available, not having the legacy overheads, red tape or politics allows them to stay competitive and stand out from the crowd. The core industries they focus on include Property, Insurance, Agriculture, and Retail.

A successful candidate will have experience working with clients to develop a business strategy, focusing on change management with an emphasis on digital and innovation.

The first task for the Commercial Director would be to create the sales strategy from scratch and start to grow the business pipeline. Working closely with the management team, building on existing experience in winning new projects with clients to shape new projects and partnerships.

The responsibilities of the Commercial Director;

  • Create a sales strategy to support the business in growing their client base and winning new mandates.
  • Use the defined sales strategy to identify prospective clients and create the unique go to market plan for each opportunity with understanding of the needs within the client
  • Develop internal processes for the approach to sales and supporting clients on a commercial basis.
  • Take a ‘hands on’ approach, understanding that this is a small, agile team that supports each other on every project to ensure client satisfaction, so tasks will have lots of variety.

The Commercial Director should be able to demonstrate experience of;

  • Working directly with C suite/Director level contacts to provide business model innovation with a working knowledge of and enthusiasm for emerging digital technologies.
  • Prior sales experience, preferably from within a consultancy or transformation agency with specific contribution to identifying, developing, and closing new mandates.
  • Being able to define the requirements of customers and translate these needs into a viable and commercial project for the business to support them on.

The Commercial Director needs to have the following attributes/requirements;

  • Results oriented and highly organized
  • Agility and flexibility to support any part of the project life cycle
  • Curious about “what is next” how can something be done “better”
  • Customer centric – Always working towards improving the customer vision.
