Ecommerce Sales Manager – Mid Level

My client is one to watch in the German payment market space. We’re looking for a high performer to join the team either in Frankfurt or working from home with an entrepreneurial mentality who will be part of the European eCommerce team, whilst also working closely with the local German sales team. The eCommerce Sales Manager will be responsible for driving new revenue from eCommerce merchant opportunities. This role is a combination of generated leads from our partners, and self-generated leads.

Job responsibilities

  • Engage with product teams to help drive strategy based on market requirements
  • Build and maintain a successful sales pipeline from lead generation to live processing
  • Act as consultant for eCommerce payments and demonstrate strong market expertise
  • Own the full sales cycle from lead to close, including cooperation with various internal teams, such as boarding, credit & risk, etc.
  • Work closely with local sales teams to help increase eCommerce knowledge and align on processes
  • Build and manage relationships with mid-market and corporate level merchants
  • Develop profitable new business account relationships and networks
  • Identify business opportunities based on knowledge of clients, markets, products, and services
  • Work closely with eCommerce Technical Sales Consultant to help define and drive the Go To Market strategy for eCommerce in Germany
  • Make strong sales presentations and provide consultative experience to existing and prospective clients
  • Develop a comprehensive ‘go-to-market’ strategy for specific market verticals


  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of sales experience in the payments/financial services industry
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
  • Passion for innovation and emerging technology

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Experience in a client-facing role selling and/or supporting software, technical, or financial services
  • Experience selling eCommerce solutions to clients in the merchant card industry
  • Strong understanding of eCommerce market and payment processing environment
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at a senior / c-suite level
  • History of exceeding sales quotas
  • Strong negotiation and decision-making skills
  • Strong consultative sales and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to influence c-suite decision makers
  • Creative deal closer
  • Ability to understand complex requirements and devise customised solutions
  • Ability to build strong pipeline and network with profitable opportunities
  • Relevant network of contacts within the industry
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Excellent marketing and business development/sales skills
