The Role

A newly created role has arisen for a Sales Manager/Director to join the successful sales team in a player-coach capacity. Initially responsible for both your own personal quota and leading a small team, for the right person we expect this team to scale rapidly in 2019 and subsequently for this role to evolve into a more strategic leadership position. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure that both personal and team revenue targets are met and over-achieved
  • Individually prospect to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline
  • Coach, support and train your team in sales methodologies
  • Work with your team to identify new opportunities and develop targeted sales pitches
  • Inspire, lead and create a positive and high performance culture and sales environment
  • Research and understand the market including competitor analysis
  • Maintain detailed records in CRM and your sales pipeline to develop strong forecasting capability

Your Profile

The successful Sales Manager will naturally have a proven aptitude for sales and high performance cultures and will most likely bring the following skills/experience:

  • Proven experience leading a fast-paced sales team as a Sales Manager, Business Development Manager, Head of Sales, Sales Team Leader or similar
  • Happy to take on a Player-Coach role, leading from the front as a high performance sales person
  • Experience working for a software or tech business, marketing services, business information or media sales business selling would be beneficial
  • Experience selling to the retail, travel or charity sectors would be relevant
  • You are an advocate for numbers and metrics in managing a sales floor and can intelligently identify areas for improvement
  • Ability to inspire trust and confidence in order to coach and develop your team
  • You thrive in a start-up environment: prepared to go the extra mile and get the job done
