Big Data Architect – £130k+ – London base

Our client is a privately held award winning technology consultancy specialising in Digital Transformation and Big Data Analytics. The business has high profile clients and are looking to double in size again over the next 2 years. This is a senior role reporting directly to the managing director and there are also shares on offer.

This role is within the Big Data practice focused on delivering data platforms and projects to clients through creating modern implementation and architecture.

This role could appeal to experienced professionals that a strong software engineering and architecture background – you must also be able to work in a client facing role with senior stakeholders.

The Big Data Architect will be comfortable with the following responsibilities

• Define the architectures for high profile and well-known projects both in the public sector and private sector.
• Define architectural roadmaps for projects and provide technical leadership
• Define and document strategies, standards and guidelines to direct the build and deployment of systems
• Ensure that agreed upon architectural principles and standards are applied to the finished system or product
• Assist in the promotion and delivery of Big Data projects whilst building strong client relations and establishing credibility through demonstrating your knowledge.
• Perform management responsibilities and contribute to the wider business strategy and though leadership efforts.

The Big Data Architect should have all of the following qualifications

• Solid experience across data trends and technology especially Big Data products
• Excellent experience and knowledge across Big Data Tech such as Hbase, Kafka, Samza, AWS or Cassandra.
• Knowledge across Search and Graph technologies – e.g: Datastax and ElasticSearch
• Background in JAVA and Rest, with the ability to review code and design solutions.
• Knowledge across SQL and NoSQL technology whilst having experience designing for both structure and unstructured databases.
• All candidates must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately Visa sponsorship is NOT provided.
