Solutions Engineer – Open Banking API Platform – London

The Company

An early-stage, fast-growing technology company, enabling small business owners to manage, track and transfer financial data directly through various financial systems and services, working seamlessly together. They provide a simple open-banking API for connectivity between accounting, banking and commerce systems globally.

A team built in the UK only 4 years ago, the company are growing at a rapid rate, now looking to double their team from 40 to 80 by the end of this year, following their 200% growth from last year! Their mission is to handle the complexity of managing and standardising third-party API connections and schema so that their clients don’t have to.

The Role

You will be the technology subject matter expert for the platform, owning the end-to-end solution delivery process from Presales through to Implementation and solution roll-out.

You will be the point of contact for any technical escalation throughout the user journey. You will ensure that the client receives a fantastic service from prospect to key account, acting as the face of the client to ensure clients derive the maximum value from their products and services to continue their growth and achieve their goals.

• Consulting with prospective clients and creating RFI’s/RFP’s.
• Leading technical presentations and demoing during the sales cycle.
• To identify key areas for integration of existing customers platform, through qualifying of custom solutions, allowing full functionality of platform.
• Design system interaction with their API to get the most value from the product.
• Consult with the client’s external teams as well as consulting with internal teams in Professional Services and Product.
• Research, design and implement a complex SaaS solution.
• Provide ideas and recommendations, following industry trends, in order to assist product and processes.

• Provided guidance to customers who are implementing solutions using the API.

The Candidate

The successful Solutions Engineer will possess the following skills and experience.

• 3+ years’ experience in solutions consulting/sales engineering within an API or Web Applications company or within a SaaS company.
• Strong relationship building and client facing skills.
• Bachelors degree, ideally in Computer Science or Maths/Physics.
• Previous hands-on coding experience, with a strong familiarity of working on API’s themselves.
• Experience working in the Financial Data, Payments or Commerce SaaS space.
• Understanding of web-based applications and SaaS technologies.
• Proven ability to explain technical concepts to a commercial audience and vice-versa.
• Logical approach to delivery and working on client’s requirements, to realise how they align with the company’s current proposition.
• Have worked with SME to enterprise Financial Services or Financial Tech companies.
