The eCommerce Sales Director, Europe will develop and manage a high-performing sales team, ensuring excellent training, methods and the highest ethics. Leveraging a significant investment in new technology, the team will sell to global and national firms, and educate and assist regional sales team members on best products and practices.

Other responsibilities include co-development of the incentive plans, targets, forecasting and management of sales team performance. The leader will work cooperatively and cross-functionally with all relevant functional areas to ensure a high performing team and great organisational effectiveness. Client feedback and direction to the product team is highly beneficial

Role information

  • Report directly to the Head of eCommerce, Europe.
  • Develop & lead a team of eCommerce salespeople across Europe. Also work in conjunction with the various existing regional sales teams, including monitoring of eCommerce pipeline activity and leading by example with regards eCommerce sales approach/knowledge.
  • Facilitate the resolution of escalations, financial dispute/issues and general business management.
  • Work cross-functionally with all relevant teams within the business including Credit & Risk, Marketing, Finance, Channel Development, etc.
  • Understand industry trends and effectively position Elavon products and services to drive sales opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 10+ years’ sales and eCommerce experience, ideally gained in the international acquiring and / or gateway services industries
  • Five or more years of management experience, preferably in a matrix environment

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Expert knowledge of sales and sales strategies
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities – leads through influence, builds effective relationships and promotes team collaboration
  • Effective and recent sales in the eCommerce market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent management and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated new business development and relationship management skills
  • Excellent customer service and presentation skills
  • Salesforce or CRM fluency
  • Considerable knowledge of banking products/services, banking operations, and current market trends
  • Ability to make critical decisions independently
