Salary: 100k to 125k + bonus

Our client is looking for a Head of Sales and Relationship Management to join their Commercial area, whose remit includes clients based in the UK as well as Ireland, Channel Islands, CIS, and the Japanese Financial Institutions in Europe.

This role is located in London, reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer of Europe, Middle East and Africa.

Responsibilities & Duties

The primary function of this role is to manage the Sales and Relationship Management Team, which is across London and Brussels.

As a member of the senior leadership team you will:

  • Lead and mentor your teams in developing existing clients` relationships in the as mentioned regions as well as steering the team towards sales potential.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets and business objectives set.
  • Maintain strong ties and liaise with the local Management team.
  • Close collaboration with the Chief Business Officer is fundamental when aligning sales efforts towards future strategy plans;
  • Represent the group in external events, conferences and panels as required/relevant.

Further responsibilities include but are not limited to;

  • Managing the team in its multiple aspects (recruitment, training, coaching, development, organisation and performance)
  • Understanding the problems and challenges of the regions and clients within your team
  • Coordination within the firm (i.e., Product, Operations, Network…) to ensure relevant resources are allocated to meet clients’ needs for both their International and/or domestic activities
  • Supporting the team in developing business opportunities
  • Protecting revenues and business within the existing client base
  • Supporting the team as required to ensure timely & satisfactory resolution of the clients` escalations.

Technical Skills:

Our next Head of Sales & Relationship Management must have proven experience within Financial Services, Banking, Fund sectors and Post-trade in general. We also require the Head of Sales & Relationship Management to have expertise in the following:

  • Strong clients focus and experience with (senior) client facing roles
  • Strategic thinking
  • An understanding of our products and services is a plus
  • An understanding/knowledge and good connections within the UK securities market is highly advantageous
  • Willingness to develop an in-depth understanding of the CSD business and related services in line with the Group strategy is imperative

A flexibility to travel within the regions of primary responsibilities as well as meet regularly the team located in Brussels is a must within this role

  • Ability to build, foster, and maintain positive professional relationship within the firm as well as with external stakeholders
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to manage a very diverse team of professionals and the regions of competence
  • Flexibility, very good organisation skills, impact and results oriented
  • Ability to adapt actions to sensitivities, needs and requirements expressed by the various stakeholders you will be dealing with
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities
  • The ability to thrive in constantly changing environment
  • High degree of resourcefulness
