Job Description and Summary
The Enterprise Architect unites Information Technology and project management. As an Enterprise architect you need to be well versed with latest and upcoming technologies in the IT infrastructure services area. The Enterprise Architect will:
* Lead the Design Team in developing the solutions required to meet contracted services.
* Implement and run architectural governance to ensure the integrity of services are maintained during change programs i.e. continue to deliver as contracted.
* Establish relationships with the client architect community and other client senior stakeholders; become a trusted advisor to the client on architecture matters.
* Provide business context and contract requirement support to colleagues.
* Provide training and coaching of individuals where necessary in developing
* solutions and services.

The Enterprise Architect will report to the Head of Infrastructure Architecture.

Key Responsibilities
* Review and approve Solution Architecture Solution Proposals for complete infrastructure solutions that meet customer and application requirements. The solution will be typically based on standard solutions spanning one or more of the following areas: End User Computing, Networks and Communications, Operations and Tooling and Infrastructure Services
* Work closely with Transformation Directors, Solution Architects, Technical Architects, project managers and client side. Along with the application development team, infrastructure support, suppliers and other domains as required.
* Ensure that infrastructure solutions make the most efficient use of resources, technical and people, to provide best value to the client..
* Provide comprehensive technical and procedural advice and guidance to team members, other domains and customers as required
* Identify innovative uses of technology that improve customer service and/or create competitive advantage
* Adhere to client technology governance and project framework.
* Help develop innovative uses of technology in conjunction with architects and client architects to improve service and cost effectiveness
* Identify opportunities for operational improvements that improve customer service and/or create competitive advantage
* Help resolve issues affecting the infrastructure including performance, processes and service issues.

Job Requirement and Skills required
* Ability to identify, analyse and solve problems in a logical and effective way, including root cause analysis and actions to solve the problem
* Ability to prioritise and manage your workload effectively and that of a medium sized team
* Enthusiastic, energetic and self-motivated with good time management skills
* Good high-level knowledge of IT infrastructures and architectures
* Knowledge of industry standards and current technology trends.
* Experience of commercial negotiations and how to develop contract schedules
* Ability to investigate and learn (to support the design and implementation of new technical solutions)
* Proven skills in recognising dependencies and project planning activities
* Experience in leading design and implementation of significant infrastructure transformation projects involving multiple technical disciplines across multiple geographies
* Knowledge of finance and budget control
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to colleagues and customers

The Enterprise Architect will be responsible for the following deliverables in addition to the governance activities:
* Transition and Transformation Phase
o Develop a High-level overview of the architecture and services being delivered to the client
o Create and maintain the Architecture Decision log as it relates to solutions and services, see appendix for more details
* *Steady State BAU Phase
o Implement and Chair the Architecture Review Board to provide internal solution governance for business change
o Implement and Chair a board/committee for Innovation in Solutions and Service
o Produce of 2- 4 innovative solution whitepapers per year
o Set-up and run 1 innovation day per year with the client and selected vendorspartners
