Network Support Engineer

Due to an increase volume of work due to ongoing projects my client are keen to hire an experienced Network Engineer on a 3 month rolling contract basis

Typical responsibilities include:

Following the ITIL process, you’ll respond to and fix all LAN / WAN LAN / WAN, Wireless Network and security infrastructure faults using established best practice and standard for the completion of all known incidents and problems, providing 2nd line technical referral to external support parties where necessary.

Performing analysis on core network devices to determine baselines, bottlenecks and forecasts for capacity planning, using available tools to proactively monitor the state of the data networks.

Along with the Senior Network Support Engineer, Network Project Analyst and Infrastructure Operations Manager, working with Project Managers, play a key role in projects requiring change and development to the data network, focusing on the technical aspects of design and implementation.

Configuration of network devices and their deployment into the production LAN /WAN, Wireless Network and security infrastructure. Performing detailed risk analysis for any configuration changes needed to devices on the live environment.

Requirements

• Demonstrable competence on a variety of Cisco switches, routers and firewalls.
• 5 + years experience in a similar Network Engineer role
• Demonstrable competence on corporate wi-fi technologies. Aruba experience would be advantageous.
• Cisco qualifications would be advantageous, but competence gained through experience is sufficient.
