Systyems Engineer

The responsibilities of this role are to assist in the build and operations as a member of the Enterprise Programs team. You will conduct high- and low-level network and service discovery, design, implementation including service transition and operations support in a large enterprise global network.

You will report to Program lead and be responsible for completing tasks assigned by the customer, project manager and program lead.

A typical eight-hour day Monday to Friday attendance with flexibility to attend out of regular business hours to ensure change implementation and assist if needed Incident resolution on a shift basis. The successful candidate must be able to work alone and, in a team, and be able to complete documentation to a high level and educate others on the environment.

Essential Functions

30% – Design, document, and implement solutions.

40% – Perform operational support and act as a technical escalation resource within the team.

20% – Document Design/Implementation proposals for peer and customer review.

10% – Work with project managers for tasks related to project activities.

Previous Job Experience

• 4+ Years in an enterprise IT environment
• Utilisation of modern server operating systems in a virtualised environment
• Computing hardware and virtulisation – UCS, PowerEdge, VMware, etc.
• Windows operating environments – Win 7/10/16/19+
• Linux operating environments – RHEL, Ubuntu, Debian, etc.
• TCP/IP networking – subnets, VLANs, routing, ports, etc.
• Network services – DNS, SSH, HTTPS, etc.
• Enterprise networking hardware – switches, firewalls, etc.
• Experience implementing, supporting client server applications
• Understanding of LAN switching, network protocols and deployment utilisation in an enterprise environment
• Ability to interact with customers, build rapport and establish a strong working relationship.
• Ability/experience with analysing current connectivity and traffic flows and how to translate them to workable yet secure/compliant OT connectivity solutions
• Previous experience planning implementations, building comprehensive test plans, troubleshooting methodologies
