Health and Safety Coordinator

Greater London Contract / 12 months

Health and Saftey Coordinator – 12 Month Contract – 1 day a week in London/Maidenhead/Edinburgh/Belfast Office – Competitive Rates

This position will support EMEA Sr. Regional Security Manager and Global EHS Sr. Manager by coordinating EHS efforts (i.e., safety programs, safety initiatives, training activities, ergonomic and environmental compliance administration, etc.) for the Client’s Safety and Security Department. This position will help coordinate implementation of identified safety and training programs and a variety of associated operations. This position will report to the EMEA Sr. Regional Security Manager in London.

Experience of global health and safety in an office based environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities of Health and Safety Coordinator:

  • Coordinate, execute, and implement EHS programs in support of client goals and initiatives under the supervision of the EMEA Sr. Regional Security Manager.
  • Support in the development of guidance documents, procedures and programs to meet the specific EHS needs.
  • Act as the Administrator for the local Emergency Response Team (ERT) programs, ensuring that regular ERT program trainings are conducted in all EMEA countries, volunteer lists are kept up to date, and local teams are engaged in emergency response efforts.
  • Act as the Administrator for regional ergonomic program per country specific laws and
  • Assist with risk mitigation through contingency planning and disaster planning/recovery.
  • Maintain records of training activities, chemical inventory, ergonomic requests, and other program-related records, and help monitor their effectiveness and compliance with all federal and local
  • Interact with local health and safety councils, managers, and workers in order to identify and correct unsafe conditions or work practices, and address any EHS needs on site
  • Participate in activities of related professional organizations to update knowledge of safety program developments

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

  • Considerable knowledge of safety principles and practices, and working experience in executing safety-related programs in a corporate environment
  • Ability to identify and recognize unsafe conditions or work
  • Ability to work independently and display creativity, problem-solving skills, and exercise sound judgment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, for writing office-wide emails, reports, and delivering safety-related trainings on videoconference or in person
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to organize and conduct effective program management type work
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use a Good knowledge of PC operations and (MS Office, Databases, InDesign) are required.

Preferred:

  • Qualified Ergonomist and experience conducting ergonomic assessments, or be willing to take certification training quickly to be same
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certified as well as a certified trainer for these courses
  • EMT or relevant emergency medical training
