PURPOSE

The Principal Security Consultant (PSC) role provides an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced consultant with first class technical and leadership skills to act as a technical authority and role model for other consultants within the department. The role is primarily technical and will involve delivery, technical development, service innovation and research. It will also include mentoring and training of other consultants, providing technical competence and creativity to support business development initiatives and bids.

The position offers significant autonomy and responsibility and the chance to set direction and make a lasting impact. The PSC will be a recognised as a technical expert in their field with first class consultancy and leadership ability with the determination to set the highest standards for service delivery and technical advancement.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Deliver a range of security consulting services to Corsaire’s clients based in the UK and overseas, both remotely and on-site, as part of a team and as project leader.
  • Deliver a complex range of application, code review, mobile and infrastructure related security assessments.
  • Knowledge of a variety of other environments, including wireless technologies, telephony, control systems, physical audits, architecture reviews, threat assessments, social engineering and red teaming.
  • Act as the technical design authority for complex and bespoke engagements and tenders.
  • Develop and present complex security solutions to clients both at technical and executive board levels.
  • Act as a role model for other consultants in the department by demonstrating the highest levels of professionalism and technical expertise.
  • Provide training and mentoring to other consultants and propose pathways for ongoing development and certification.
  • Proficient in writing technical documentation and establishing the highest standards for project delivery, reporting and technical QA.
  • Create and champion organisational knowledge concerning key technologies developments, tools, methodologies and industry innovation.
  • Development of the Corsaire vulnerability database, technical tools, knowledge management and reporting systems.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Five or more years working in IT security as a consultant or senior level consultant or equivalent
  • CREST/CHECK Team Leader qualified.
  • Post Graduate qualification in IT security or an IT related discipline is desirable.
  • Good Knowledge of security assessment and audit tools, techniques and methodologies (aka penetration testing/ethical hacking), Governance Risk and Compliance, ISO 270001, incident management and risk management.
  • Strong leadership and team building ability combined with the determination to succeed.
  • Have first class technical, business and consultancy skills and have specialism in one or more technical domains.
  • Have excellent oral and presentation skills with demonstrable evidence of the ability to present to senior audiences of mixed business and technical background.
  • Be self-motivated and self-disciplined with a demonstrable and successful track record in delivering complex consultancy projects to all sizes of organisation in diverse markets.
  • Experience with SDLC, SecDevOps and of various development platforms and middleware. Code review and QA.
  • Strong knowledge of high-level programming and shell scripting.
  • Must have an excellent understanding of the information and technical security issues faced by large enterprise organisations and the security marketplace.
  • Experience of commercial and public domain security tools and software; Firewalls, IPS, content management, anti-malware etc.
