Security Operations And Response Manager

This mature start-up is looking to hire an experienced SOC Manager on a 6-month contract with the option to extend. My client is strategically scaling their team through key hires in London and are looking to select a Security Operations and Response Manager to join this ambitious and large-scale greenfield cybersecurity project.

The successful candidate will be tasked with running all operational activities with regard to the SOC, monitoring and response.

Essential Criteria:

• Proven experience building and managing a SOC function.
• Experience of managing a SOC in a corporate environment.
• Proven experience of security incident management.
• Experience with managing issue escalation.
• Ability to effectively communicate security issues to senior stakeholders.
• CISM/CISSP Certification.
• Educated to degree level.
• Experience working in regulated environments/banking.
• Demonstrable experience of commissioning information security assessments.
• Sufficient technical knowledge of corporate IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Creating and expanding the security operations function.
• Contribution to common security architecture.
• Running all operational activities including the selection of an MSSP SOC provider.
• MSSP integration and ensuring MSSP performance.
• Oversight of security monitoring, incident response and threat analysis.
• Management of routine activities such as IDS monitoring, system event logging, data leakage prevention and incident triage, response and analysis.
• Security investigation report.
• General contributions towards improvement of institutional security posture.
