A market leading package is on offer for a Hadoop Administrator to manage and scale the Hadoop cluster. Working in the analytics team you will handle operational, consulting and architectural tasks on both the networking/infrastructure and across data analytics.

As a Big Data Administrator you will:

• Create and manage the Hadoop platform to produce the data required.
• Advise and consult on operational tasks like firewall and load balancer changes.
• Advise and manage growth in scale as customers are gained.
• Keep track of the security infrastructure, application tiers and networks
• Configuration and integration of big data frameworks with enterprise monitoring systems
• Utilise configuration management tools and hardening infrastructure security
• Supply feature requests and bug fixes to internal automation tools
• Take responsibility for keeping services online and available.

You will be successful as an Hadoop Administrator if you have strong communication skills with the ability to prioritise effectively and have a natural talent for solving problems. You will be inquisitive and analytical and come with experience of configuring, installing, documenting and administering Hadoop distributions such as Cloudera, MapR or Hortonworks.

As a Big Data Hadoop Administrator you will bring experience of data replication, network security, Linux/Unix administration and an understanding of Java and Scala including experience with development and debugging; although this isn’t essential.

The technology stack includes YARN, Spark, Hive, Oozie, Hbase, Pig, HDFS and Storm. Hortonworks distribution is used for the production environment in an agile automation delivery using tools such as Chef, Ansible and Puppet.
