Big Data Senior Developer

Salt are currently looking for a Senior Big Data Developer to work in London on an initial 6-month contract.

Key Skills:

• Strong technical experience as a Big Data Developer using Java 8 / Kafka / HBase in AWS ecosystem
• Strong experience of distributed and No SQL databases
• Core Technical Skill set: Java 8, HBase, Kafka followed by a streaming component such as Samza/Spark and REST API development skills
• Working experience in BDD, TDD, Maven, Jenkins.
• Technical hands on development resources to assist client with their experience.
• Should identify areas where processes and standards could be improved and help implement any changes
• Should have experience working in Agile environment
• Ability to clearly articulate both the technology and business pros and cons of various technologies, platforms, and architectural options
• To be able to document use cases, solutions and recommendations
• Excellent communication, ‘can do’ attitude and a team player and influencing relationship to manage client and business.
• Should have experience working directly with line of business stakeholders
• Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to read and write complex technical specifications

Nice to have:

• TOGAF/ ZACHMAN architectural framework knowledge and accreditation
• Technical knowledge on Graph, Groovy, NIFI
• Agile / SAFE certification and knowledge of agile framework
• Should identify areas where processes and standards could be improved and help implement any changes
• Experience working in a Public Sector domain
