Data Architect

Salt are looking to speak with a highly skilled Data Architect to work for our client. Our client is a consultancy organisation working to solve industry-defining challenges from digital transformations to mergers and acquisitions.

Working in close collaboration with team’s Principal Architects, and alongside the team’s Program Manager, Business Engineers, and Product Consultants, this multi-faceted role will help drive the overall data architecture approach of Next Gen product software.

The role is responsible for defining the data strategy and technology stacks for various use cases, overseeing the architecture and design, ensuring implementation and delivery follows the agreed upon approach, and helping to setup, automate, and operationalize data pipelines. Other facets of the role include providing strategic and tactical direction to development teams, expert advisory input, taking part in hands-on design and proof of concepts (POCs), development and architectural reviews to ensure quality, scalability, performance, consistency, reliability and client/personal data protection.

Experience in the following technology:

• Large enterprise data warehouse architecture design including logical and physical model development.
• Strong experience with traditional relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and SQL skills, including developing stored procedures, functions, and triggers
• Experience with NoSQL databases including key-value stores, graph, document, and columnar (e.g., Neo4j, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Cassandra, Cloudera, Azure Cosmos)
• Experience with highly scalable cloud-based data warehouses (e.g., Redshift, Azure Synapse, Snowflake)
• Experience designing, implementing, and supporting end-to-end automated data processing ETL pipelines using a variety of tools and technologies (e.g., Alteryx, SSIS, Informatica, Talend, Pentaho, Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue).
• Experience with production reporting and BI platforms a plus (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik).
