Database Expert (MySQL, SQL, PostgreSQL, NOSQL) – Energy Business – Brussels

Salary: €90000 – €100,000 + benefits

• I am currently working with a Global Utilities / Energy business based in Brussels.
• They are keen to expand their business and they are looking for an exceptional Database Expert with solid experience who is able to hit the ground running.
• The Database Expert will need to have a very technical background and must be still hands on.
• The Database Expert will be working with several different teams and projects but will need to be able to liaise with senior stakeholders. You will also be working with several vendors so strong communication skills are required.
• The client highlighted to me that this role over the next year or so will evolve and will be more Big Data focused. So if the Database Expert has exposure to modelling techniques, this will leave them in excellent stead .

Technical Skills: Database Expert (MySQL, SQL, PostgreSQL, NOSQL) – Energy Business – Brussels

• Strong knowledge of and experience with databases (MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, NoSQL etc.), T-SQL, data integration software (SSIS, Talend, Pentaho or similar), familiarity with visual analytics tools (Tableau, SSRS etc.);
• Experience with big data tools: Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.;
• Must have experience coding in object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.;
• Knowledge of data mining techniques;
• Experience in gathering and analysing system requirements;
• Strong analytical skills, able to think strategically;
• Problem-solving attitude, having a good view on the consequences if some risks are not mitigated (and able to explain it to the business);
• Must have solid project management and organizational skill;
• Knowledge of GitLab, JIRA, Confluence etc.;
• Experience in working in an Agile environment;
• Business fluent in English mandatory (oral and written).
