Enterprise Data Architect

The company is a corporate venture operating in the regulatory technology space. Its vision is to materially improve effectiveness and efficiency of non-financial crime compliance for cross-border and domestic payments and reduce the overall level of friction in the global payment system. The company is developing a set of API-based services that financial institutions will connect to allowing them to decommission their in-house legacy systems.

This role is to lead the “Enterprise Data Management” capability’s design. It is anticipated that the solution will consist of bespoke cloud technology development with best-of-breed automated testing and deployment tools. The data architect will therefore be required to work with development and product teams to deliver the functional and non-functional requirements in accordance with the organisation architectural principles and strategy.

The Enterprise Data Management capability will provide a data service across the organisations capabilities. The purpose of this capability is to deliver requested data to inhouse capabilities in operation, provide the data for audit trail, and makes the data available across clients and regions, to create robust models and to be resilient against system faults.

What you’ll need

• Minimum 5 years’ delivery experience developing data architectures and data models supporting real time data pipelines (Mandatory).
• Minimum 3 years’ implementing data pipelines for data driven business decision supported by ML and NLP (Mandatory)
• Minimum 5 years’ experience data architecture across the full product development lifecycle with exposure to a wide array of technologies, methodologies, and business environments. (Mandatory)
• Experience of data streaming (i.e. Kafka) technology, SQL (i.e. PostgreSQL) and non-SQL database (i.e. CouchDB) technology which supports processing stream data, record keeping, and reporting (Mandatory)
• Fluent in written and spoken business English (Mandatory)
• Experience of working in agile IT development environments (Mandatory)

Responsible for:

• Producing an Enterprise Data Model as the central Data Repository
• Working with the integration layer team and Capability Product Owners to translate business needs into data architectural requirements and designs
• Undertake data profiling and source system analysis to present clear insights and support end use of the data.
• Make recommendations to ensure compliance regarding data privacy and governance (i.e. classification of important, privacy, and critical data objects)
• Working with the Enterprise and Security architects, 3rd party solution architects and designers to provide assurance, through:
  • Support to the selection of appropriate data base technologies
  • Review and agree proposed data architectural designs
• Working with our chosen Delivery Partner, Enterprise and Security architects and Test Manager to:
  • Provide detailed data architectural design and technical requirements/sheets to our cloud delivery partner as required.
  • Work with the scrum teams and product owners to resolve development blockers
  • Review and provide collaborative input and support on the development and test environments to be built
• In collaboration with the lead Data architect to define and provide data architecture guidelines, Data standards, and a metadata management.
• Present data model and architectural designs for approval via the Design Authority forum.
• Provide recommendation on how Data Architecture and Design should be set up within the organisation going forwards
