Senior Applications Developer (C#, C++, TDD, Kafka, AMQP) – Proprietary Trading Business – London

Rate: £500 – 600 per day

Length: 6 months + extensions

I currently working with a Global Proprietary Trading organisation who are going through some really exciting times. They have asked me to find them a Senior Applications Developer who has excellent skills but also some business knowledge within the financial marker (futures and options)

Senior Applications Developer (C#, C++, TDD, Kafka, AMQP) – Proprietary Trading Business – London

This is a senior development role in the Post-Trade Development team that takes collective ownership of a large number of in-house developed tools, frameworks and applications. The team is responsible for the full product stack, from front-ends to databases.

The successful candidate will immediately begin work on enhancing and adding features to existing tools and going forward will be designing and implementing new tools and applications required by the business. Project times range from 1 week to 6 months and developers may often be assigned several pieces of work at the same time and be expected to manage delivery.

Required: Senior Applications Developer (C#, C++, TDD, Kafka, AMQP) – Proprietary Trading Business – London

• Excellent C# ability including TDD (experience with C++ as well is a plus);
• Experience with relational and non-relational database technologies (Postgres experience is a plus)
• Experience with middleware technologies, e.g. Kafka, AMQP, event sourcing
• Source Control Management (ideally git)
• Strong understanding of async workflows (ideally Rx.NET)
• Inter-process communication
• Event-driven design
• Experience working with geographically distributed systems, designing for resiliency
• Business communication skills & ability to present information clearly and concisely;
• Efficient & diligent with a strong attention to detail;
• Bachelor Degree with a minimum 2.1 grade or equivalent.

Desired:

• Web UI Frameworks (e.g. React, Knockout, Bootstrap, Nancy);
• Test Frameworks (NUnit, MSpec, SpecFlow, Mocha, mocking frameworks);
• ORM experience (Dapper, LINQ2SQL);
• Binary serialization formats (Avro, capnproto, protobuf);
• Time series (Influx, KDB, OneTick);
• FIX protocol;
• Front end design and UI architecture; &
• Knowledge of financial markets & securities (particularly equities, futures & options)
