AWS Platform Engineer

AWS Platform Engineer | London | 3-6 months contract

DESCRIPTION

My client is looking for a strong AWS Platform Engineer for a contract role within their Platform Engineering team. We’re looking for someone who can articulate project requirements, with a track record in all areas of the software development lifecycle with a DevOps mindset.

My client is a multiple award winning InsurTech company, ranked on Britain’s most inspiring companies and best in the 75 best companies. They are passionate about modern software approaches and methodologies such as SOLID, Clean Code and TDD.

Tech REQUIREMENTS

· Modern Java and Python

· Clean code following principles of OO and functional application

· AWS with IAM, EC2, VPC, ECS, Lambda, CloudWatch, S3, Route53, RDS, ELB/ALB, ASG/LC, EKS.

· Logging Frameworks and services

· Containerisation and/or FaaS. (Docker and AWS Lambda).

· Scheduling frameworks such as Kubernetes or other, and advanced service discovery (LinkerD, Envoy or Istio).

· Use configuration management tools (Puppet or equivalent) to create stable, testable and repeatable infrastructure as code.

· HTTP based APIs

· CI/CD build tools and pipelines.

· Practical, Pragmatic, LEAN solutions.
