Are you an experienced infrastructure engineer looking for a new challenge? Would you like to be a vital part of an iconic global toy production company’s ecommerce engineering team? The team are responsible for building, maintaining and operating their global website eCommerce platform. They are a multi-functional team with end to end responsibility for our technology platform. I am currently seeking an experienced engineer to help with the continuing evolution and operation of our platform.

About the team

The Shopper Engagement Technology team are responsible for building and maintaining technology for our shoppers – specifically on the .com platform. We are a cross functional team with end to end responsibility for our technology solutions and work hand in hand with internal teams that drive the ‘direct to consumer’ strategy and its execution for the company.

  • Working with the engineering team to build, deploy and maintain the end to end infrastructure of the .com website, focusing on cloud and DevOps activity
  • Ensuring the shopper experience on the website is highly performant and stable by actively responding to and resolving operational incidents
  • Monitoring for issues ensuring alerting and resolution is automated and scalable where possible
  • Supplying the engineering team with an advanced CI/CD tool-set to enable them in their day to day work.
  • Participating in planning work and identifying dependencies through agile ways of working.
  • You are passionate about cloud computing and have solid experience of working with the AWS stack in high-traffic production environments
  • You have a deep understanding of Linux
  • You have hands-on experience with using Docker in a production environment
  • You are experienced working with web services in an eCommerce environment including Apache and NGINX as well as CDNs such as Akamai and Amazon CloudFront
  • You have experience maintaining and optimising infrastructure for hosting both Node.js and Java applications
  • You have a working knowledge of configuration management tools and techniques (we use Salt Stack)
  • You are security-aware especially in relation to data privacy and PCI compliance.

  • You can identify, research and resolve complex problems
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You have worked in an international business environment preferably including global eCommerce
  • You have strong interpersonal skills

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS – A graduate degree in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred. Functional experience will be considered in place of academic qualifications.
