DevOps – Azure / AWS – Permanent

DevOps Engineer with experience across AWS or Azure urgently required to join growing consultancy on customer site in South London to build, develop and maintain a cloud-based platform.

As the DevOps engineer you will have experience across AWS or Azure and apply DevOps best practices of automation, TDD and Infrastructure as Code to deliver technical solutions to product teams.

Additional responsibilities for the DevOps engineer include but are not limited to;

  • Build high-quality, well tested open and closed-source code to recognised standards
  • Work with designers to iterate designs into HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript solving accessibility and responsiveness challenges
  • Work on projects through full project life-cycle from alpha experimentation, through private and public betas and to live
  • Develop themes, plugins and pages

In this role the DevOps engineer will need to have experience across the following technologies;

  • AWS or Azure
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
  • Experience with automation / configuration management using Ansible, puppet or Chef.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (Azure / AWS)
  • A working understanding of networking – switches, routers, firewalls, VPN etc.
  • Knowledge of best practices, IT operations and TDD
  • Metrics and monitoring – able to write custom tools and familiar with open source options

Products used include;

  • Azure / AWS
  • Bitbucket or Github
  • Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Puppet / Chef and Python / Ruby
  • ELK ((Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana)

Any experience across Terraforma and container technologies including Docker and Kubernetes DB Technologies (MySQL, MongoDB etc) would be considered highly beneficial

Due to the nature of the site the successful DevOps Engineer must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance (company will sponsor your application for SC Clearance!)
