Greater London Contract / 6 months £0.00 - £700.00 per day

DevOps Engineer | Marleybone | Docker | Kubernetes | SRE | Terraform | C. London

My client is looking passionate DevOps engineers with proven track record of delivering robust automated deployment infrastructures at scale.

The company creates both rapid prototypes, usually in 2 to 3 weeks, as well as full-scale applications typically within 2 to 3 months, by working collaboratively and iteratively through design and development to deliver fully functioning web-based and mobile applications that meet business goals. You will contribute to the architecture across the technology stack, from database to native apps.

Development teams are small, flexible and employ agile methodologies to quickly provide our consultants with the solutions they need. We combine the latest open source technologies together with traditional Enterprise software products.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional development team following continuous delivery and building highly performant code
  • Develop prototypes quickly and deliver production code that can scale.
  • Be involved in a full spectrum of development, including new features and new applications but also tools to support experimentation, localisation and customisation.
  • Develop and implement systems using best practices and tools. Document and communicate them.
  • Be creative and experiment with new solutions but pragmatic and committed to code optimization, maintainability, and quality
  • Work with product owners and designers to prioritise and hone features. Optimize web applications for maximum speed and scale.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience of managing infrastructure as code (Cloud Formation, Terraform, Serverless etc…)
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
  • Experience of deploying containers (Docker, Kubenetes, ECS)
  • Experience with relational and non-relational (e.g., MongoDB, CouchDB, Cassandra, etc.) data stores
  • Experience in managing production systems at scale
  • Thought leader in the areas of continuous deployment, DevOps and SRE.

About the company and the challenge ahead:

Since being set up 18 months ago they now have a new platform live built using highly distributed and scalable micro-service architecture with Node.JS, React, Docker Containers AWS Stack (ECS, SQS), Terraform, Circle CI and infra-as-code environment allowing them to deploy up to 70x times per day. This is not building a UK E-commerce site, this is high velocity, Super-fast, automated deployment using high level architecture, high performance, high traffic transactions.

Next challenge is to scale this across Europe.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a rapidly growing, digital team with some of the best software engineers and DevOps professionals in the industry, to work for a global company, with a supportive working environment utilising cutting edge tech stacks.
