GCP Platform Engineer

GCP Platform Engineer | North London | Contract

My client is looking for an experience GCP platform engineer to join their team, they have migrated most of their infrastructure to Google Cloud Platform and are now looking to take their Infrastructure and Application Architecture to the next level using the GCP services that are now available to them.

This is primarily an individual contributor role, but will also have one offshore direct report. It would suit either an individual that has worked in a similar role before or a skilled individual from a larger team environment that is looking to move to take complete responsibility and ownership, with a direct reporting line to the CTO. If you are looking for an environment where you will have the opportunity to have autonomy in your role and not be micromanaged then this is a role for you.

• You will lead the DevOps Infrastructure team evolving the infrastructure to be operationally excellent, secure, reliable, performant and scalable
• You will work with the Engineering team to architect and build a best in class Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipeline.

Desired experience:

• Strong experience of operating an on-line public facing technology platform e.g. transactional website
• 5 years of Cloud Infrastructure experience
• Minimum 2 years of Google Cloud Platform experience, ideally GCP certified
• Has partnered with Engineering to implement and improve a CI/CD pipeline
• Working with offshore teams

Tech Stack: primarily Linux, Docker, Nginx, Google Cloud SQL, Stackdriver/Zabbix and soon Kubernetes
