Lead Infrastructure Engineer – Operations Engineering | Contract | London

If you’re a smart, detailed orientated DevOps and infrastructure engineer who can lead the Infrastructure engineering team while communicating company goals, best practices, and deadlines to team as well as motivating team members and assesses performance then this role is for you.

This is a fantastic role within the Infrastructure Engineering team while working in tandem with the Operations Engineering team to grow the way my client are looking at Infrastructure as Code.

As the Lead Infrastructure Engineer you will have a real focus in the way that my client builds need products in particularly the way they expand on thei mobile app.

You will be changing and driving value for all of their customers through the use of code and continuous improvement and linking these solutions back to their everyday activity. As a Lead for this team you will be instrumental in change through the design and support of Infrastructure solutions. The role is not only seen as vital to the bank but also very much needed across all our engineering teams to ensure standards and best practices are a common theme throughout.

About the client: My client offers credit cards for UK residents with a limited or uneven credit history.

Key Skills:

• Proven experience of working within a DevOps/Agile environment
• Experience working as a Lead within engineering in a commercial team
• Extensive experience as a Sysadmin with a focus on improvement
• A background within architecture and process improvement
• Working within a mobile app environment is hugely beneficial
• Experience of building and supporting infrastructure solutions in traditional data centres and Cloud services (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud) – ideally Azure
• Experience in PaaS and IaaS cloud solutions
• Infrastructure Automation and configuration management are key
• Scripting knowledge (JSON, Powershell, Bash, YAML)
• Managing enterprise Storage technology
• Experience managing and leading engineering teams of all levels
