Security Solution Architect/Engineer | 6 months | London

Purpose

The Digital Services at the Border programme is developing a new digital platform of services. To help deliver this challenging programme, a skilled Security Solution Architect/Engineer is required. The system is deployed in a cloud environment running a distributed big data platform.

The programme follows Agile principles and is striving for a CI/CD pipeline. The programme requires that all Engineers be cleared to Security Check (SC) level.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to low level architecture, design and implementation of security solution on open source software
• Responsible for the AWS security architecture and assurance, contributing to the security and DevOps requirements backlog
• Contribute to plans, tests and risk assessments and assurance
• Contribute to a secure CI/CD pipeline design using open source products
• Present architecture and designs technical forums
• Contribute to design using security testing tools (SonarQube, OWASP, ZAP)
• Comms between the Security Assurance and DevOps Team
• Encourage secure working practices
• Design and agreement of security controls
• Reviewer of LLD’s based on security risk assessment
• SME on NCSC guidelines
• Works as part of the security team to assure AWS & Crown
• Presents designs and risks to the accreditors

Essential Skills

• AWS skill to support LLD and assurance and contribute to back
• Strong confident communicator
• Experienced at LLD and implementation of security controls
• Good documentation skills
• Able to work in agile environment
