Senior API expert / DevOps software engineer (API , REST, API gateways, swagger, Deployment ) – Banking Client – Brussels

Rate: Negotiable

Duration: 1 year contract

My client is a Global Settlements Bank based in Brussels. The client is looking for an exceptional consultant to join their Digital Channels tribe. The Senior API expert DevOps software engineer will be driving the API centre of excellence from a technology perspective.

As a Senior API expert / DevOps software engineer you will :

• define the strategy of hosting, building, and maintaining internal and external API in collaboration with development, architecture and business team
• be responsible of the documentation describing best practises and guidelines for developing APIs
• coach designers and developers to ensure the consistency and coherence of API implementation across the company
• be the SPOC regarding API technology matters
• develop and/or lead the developments of APIs, POCs to be used as examples for all teams who need to build API
• be an API ambassador for technical and business audience
• deliver high quality documentation and products
• provide support to teams having difficulties to implement or integrate APIs

Qualifications: Senior API expert / DevOps software engineer (API , REST, API gateways, swagger, Deployment ) – Banking Client – Brussels

• at least 15 years of experience as senior IT software engineer / architect
• significant experience in the API adoption in a complex IT lanscape
• experience in delivering cross functional multi-platform designs
• very good analysis & investigation skills; ability to break down complex problems and develop solutions
• ability to operate in a changing environment and to participate to the change
• excellent communication skills (verbal, written, active listening)
• proven experience to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities while maintaining overall control
• assertiveness in driving tasks to completion
• experience with offshoring
• experience of agile practices and methods, especially TDD, DevOps , test automation and continuous delivery pipeline
• experience in a financial regulated environment is a plus
