Regional Manager – Network, North
Field Based (Location UK North, Manchester, Leeds & Scotland) You would need to be based in one of this locations as a base.

Key Deliverables:
You will need to be a talented professional, with relevant hands on network experience in the telecoms sector, preferably working for an ISP in a similar role. Developing the team and building the network support function you will have led a team previously, in order to build network capacity and ensure network availability 24/7. Whether dealing with suppliers or investigating network or individual customer faults you must have an eye for detail and a focus to deliver, some out of hours working may be required. Knowledge of working in Data Centre’s and BT Exchanges will be required.

Reporting Line
Reporting to Network Maintenance Manager, you will have the chance to make the role of your own and help bring high speed broadband to our customers across the UK.
Responsibilities and duties will include:
Assisting in maintenance, repair and expansion tasks on the network infrastructure.
Adhering to good practice guidance and comply with health, safety and welfare policies including procedures relating to the reporting of accidents.

• Lead a team of network maintenance engineers (NME)
• Produce development and training plans for the NME.
• Be a technical escalation for NME.
• Ensure the welfare and the H & S of the NME team.
• Work with Customer Services and NOC to investigate / resolve outages or customer faults.
• Work with Network Engineers to support the network build.
• Create, develop and review maintenance (reactive, preventative, proactive) activities to ensure that the network is reliable, maintainable and available.
• Review existing infrastructure and pro-actively looks for opportunities to consolidate or reduce the costs.
• Manage Data Centre and BT Exchange space / power / fibres, ordering upgrades as required.

Person specifications
(Essential and desirable):

• Hands on network build and operational experience.
• Basic IP Skills.
• Experience of working with Core / Access routers.
• Appreciation of transmission, microwave and wireless technologies.
• Leading and developing a team.
• Understanding of network and fibre architecture.
• Competent in analysing historical data to pro-actively identify area’s of improvement.
• Good understanding of network space, power and connectivity requirements.
• Advanced MS Excel / Access Skills.
• Knowledge or accreditation of ITIL, eTOM & Prince. Ideally
• Must be able to self-manage and organise/prioritise tasks.
• Be flexible on working hours and willing to travel within the UK at short notice.
• Experience of managing a budget.
