Product Lead

Product Lead- Contract- London- £650-720.00 per day

Our client is a boutique consultancy working on a global transformation, they are looking for a product lead to put together a new product playbook to embed in to the distributed cross functional teams.

What’s the project?

You’ll be joining a cross-functional team made up of the Central Digital Office (CDO), IT and the Delivery Director.

The team is responsible for establishing a number of product Teams and is developing a Playbook for how the product teams work – covering everything from roles and responsibilities, how agile is delivered at scale, to how to discover and validate digital Products, and how to build an internal capability of product ownership.

The team follows a sprint cadence, and the backlog contains a mixture of content pieces to produce for the Playbook and key meetings with other teams and stakeholders.

Who do they need?

They need someone who has spent their career working in product management, and has deep experience of consulting for clients.

Beyond being a really strong fit for their culture, they need to be a very strong communicator, have a passion for transformation and a desire to define how their client establishes product teams that can take real ownership for their work and deliver high quality products.

They most likely have worked as a product manager in a variety of places, at start-ups, enterprise and agencies.

They’ve discovered through their career that there is a variety of ways to create Products, and some are clearly more effective and efficient than others. They’ve increasingly become interested in how organisations work, and what can be done to enable Products to be created most effectively and efficiently – and that answer is not SAFe.

They’re incredibly knowledgeable and/or experienced with different product development methodologies and frameworks, incl. SAFe, Scrum, Kanban etc.

What skills do they need?

– Facilitate the Sprint cadence, and different Agile ceremonies
– Participate in complex work and diverse conversation
– Educate the organisation on what a good Product team looks like
– Produce excellently written and instructive pieces of content about Product
– Persuade people to see the world the way you see it
– Coach and teach individuals
– Pair with Product Owners and Scrum Masters
– Design and run a good workshop without much notice
