They are looking for a product manager to work with the digital team and wider business to define and agree the features and functionality required for expanding and optimising all elements of the digital platform, providing input into new digital projects and provides specialist advice on how they can support business growth.

The Role:

The Digital Product Owner is responsible for defining and prioritising the features and functionality of all elements of the Digital Platform (SAP Commerce / Hybris), including the business roadmap. They also act as a liaison between the Digital business team, the Digital project team, the wider business teams and the actual technical development team ensuring all requirements and views are represented in delivering the final digital product. This includes all elements of the platform, including the website, content, imagery, navigation, customer journey, customer experience, creative, back office tooling and third-party plug-ins.

The Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Digital team and wider business to define and agree the features and functionality required for expanding and optimising all elements of the Digital platform
  • To document the features and functionality in a standard way in the Product Backlog, using an Agile toolset such as Jira (or suitable alternative) and to work with Business Analyst in detailing the relevant Epics and Stories
  • Challenge & work with SI accordingly to ensure the store front build takes full advantage of Hybris functionality & complements the business and digital requirements
  • Conduct the backlog grooming process with the Business Analyst, Scrum Master and other Product Owners, as well as the key members of the development team
  • Provide a clear description of product features for easy comprehension by the development teams
  • Attend & drive daily stand-ups and work with the Project and Business teams to ensure that any blockers are owned and cleared providing any relevant escalations path for resolution
  • Provide industry insight, innovation and relevant expertise to ensure the Digital product remains commercial competitive and efficient whilst optimising the brand and customer experience
  • To own and communicate the product roadmap, including the core Digital platform, in house systems (where relevant) and third-party tools.
  • Assess and report the effectiveness of new features through the use of analytics and reporting, as well as understanding the optimisation of efficiency gains from any back-office enhancements
  • Lead detailed level of the requirements from stakeholders, making sure that the scrum team focuses on building the right product (Using Agile tools and practices).

Related responsibilities – Strategy

  • Develops plans to drive forward the Digital First strategy, taking advantage of available business and technology opportunities
  • Inputs into new digital projects and provides specialist advice on how they can support business growth

Technology Planning

  • Takes full responsibility for the balance between functional, non-functional and quality of the digital product within the business
  • Works with the technology team to ensure the alignment of technical plans so that appropriate technical resources are made available where relevant to the delivery of any new product features
  • Lays out milestones &deadlines as part of the overall technology roadmap

Content & Customer Experience

  • Supports the understanding of customer experience and end user needs and how these are met through improving the Digital product.
  • Works with the creative and UX & UI team to implement customer experience enhancements

Continuous Improvement

  • Advises on what data to evaluate and tools required
  • Analyses ongoing support issues and defects, as well as feedback from customers, customer services, operations and digital teams to drive a behaviour of continuous improvement

Knowledge & Experience

  • Excellent knowledge of the Agile development process and tools
  • Excellent knowledge of systems and business requirements process
  • Experience of working as a Product Owner (at least 2-3 years).
  • Past experience Product Manager or Senior Business Analyst on large scale eCommerce platforms such as Demandware, Intershop, Hybris, Magento, ATG, IBM or similar (SAP Hybris preferred).
  • Delivery of an IOS app.
  • Experience with other third party tools such as Adobe Scene 7, Amplience, BazaarVoice, CRM tools, campaign management, Order management, Content Management, PIM, Adobe analytics, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other similar applications.
  • Proven experience of working within large business transformation projects within complex technical and cultural environments
  • Conversion optimisation
  • Experience of working with large scale, high volume, real-time web-based applications and infrastructure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels, both technical and non-technical
  • Experience of Scrum/Kanban/XP/Safe is an advantage.
  • A Solid understanding of the digital retail space, principles, marketplace, future trends
