Change and Development Director

Change & Development Director | London | 8 month contract | £650 p/day

My client, a large pharmaceutical company, are looking for a Change and Development Director to direct the design and development of processes, instruments and equipment from the lab through the manufacturing process.

This role will be responsible for identification, deployment and governance of clinical information technologies needed to support product development process as well as directing and supporting technology initiatives and strategic vendor interactions. You will be working closely with business leaders, end user community, UK partners, vendors and service providers to ensure delivery of technology solutions that support business strategy and operations. You will be responsibility for leading cross functional project tams and overseeing contractors.

Key Duties:

• You will be responsible for analyzing, documenting, and optimizing business processes and ensuring it fits with the existing and proposed solutions.
• You will need to identify solutions to meet the requirements of the business
• Collaborating with functional leads to understand available solutions deployed that can be leveraged to meet a business need
• Leading the creation of business cases for governance review
• Developing appropriate project plans including timelines, resourcing/risk/communication/financial plans and business cases
• Defining and creating project teams which will include vendors and contingent workers
• You will manage the plan, hold stakeholder accountable for their deliverables and put plans in place to measure and deliver this.
• Sign off on functional solution by validating use cases, conceptual data design, screen design, supplementary requirements.
• Partner with compliance and validation resources as needed to drive change control and system validation activities.
• Be the single POC for delivery of projects and manage to on time/scope/budget
• Facilitate appropriate forums to manage project dependencies and integrations

Role and Logistical information

This candidate will be overseeing schedules, supplies, materials, equipment and manpower requirements in the pilot plant, and recommend programs to maximize project success, improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of the R&D plant operations.

You will provide technical leadership in all areas of process development, process validation and equipment validation with a focus on solid oral dosage forms.

It’s imperative this candidate can provide functional leadership for all technology transfer related projects to assure timely scale-up and launch of new products.

Qualifications and Person Specification:

• MA or PhD in Life Sciences, IT or Engineering.
• Experience with technology evaluation, deployment and project management required.
• 10 + years management experience in biotech or Pharmaceutical industry, preferably with some years’ experience in Technical Development as well as managing Implementation of R&D Projects.
• 5+ years of professional IT experience running high performing environments in multiple technical and business domains
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated project management skills – able to effectively plan and manage complex projects; quickly identifies real or potential issues, seek practical solutions and escalate appropriately. Project Management Professional certification a plus
