A global Financial Services organisation are on the lookout for a highly experienced IT Project Manager to join their London office. Reporting directly to the Head of Release & Project Management you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of IT projects, utilising your expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and resolve issues ensuring that projects get delivered on time, within budget and to scope.

Senior IT Project Manager – Financial Services Responsibilities

• Defines the overall project governance and organisation, the deliverable scope and the associated responsibilities.
• Oversees the business, technical, organisational, management and financial aspects of the project.
• Regularly reports project progress at all levels, including senior management and/or the sponsor/client.
• Acts as the interface and facilitator between the project sponsor/customer and the various IT services involved in the project.
• Manage relationships with vendors and external suppliers
• Regularly leads improvement initiatives.
• Performance and achievements are subject to periodic review against targets.
• Requires a good of business and technical understanding,
• Be able to manage a number of concurrent projects across the breadth of IT (infrastructure, application, integration etc)
• Liaise with Senior stakeholders and act as the point of contact within the project team to mitigate and resolve potential setbacks/ delays

Senior IT Project Manager – Financial Services Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a relevant field (Computer science/ Engineering or similar)
• Project Management qualifications (Prince2 / PMI or similar)
• Experience in wholesale financial markets,
• Knowledge of settlement of UK equities or bonds will be highly desirable
• Demonstrable end-to-end delivery of medium to large projects including design and build to testing, acceptance and launch.
• Excellent stakeholder and communication skills across all levels and functions within a business
• Having sufficient appreciation of accounting concepts to ensure the financial aspects of business cases are sound in both benefit and cost terms.
