Technical Business Analyst – £450 – £500/day – 6 Months – Hybrid/Westminster – Public Sector – Inside IR35

A key client is currently looking to hire an interim Technical Business Analyst to support with the next phase of disaggregation activity, supporting:

1. Technical disaggregation planning – a look into tools, platforms, contracts and licences

2. System rationalisation

3. Emergent and spin-off projects related to the above – including platform specific project BA support and emergent rationalisation and Digital Asset management projects.

Business Analyst Responsibilities:

  • This role will work across the whole of the Digital and Innovation portfolio, supporting activity across core IT and technology, customer and digital, and the Smart City ambitions. This will require a proactive and relentless focus on delivery
  • The role is an enabling one, with user need at the heart of the approach taken to improve outcomes
  • The postholder will be responsible for analysing and documenting business requirements and processes to ensure that technology solutions are aligned with business needs. The Business Analyst will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business requirements
  • Through the way the teams will work the postholder will drive a change to the culture of the organisation as part of the Digital and Innovation portfolio
  • Work across complex business areas and multidisciplinary product teams to analyse and articulate user need. Create research and analysis plans to help gather evidence to guide decision-making in nuanced areas where simple answers are not possible; build and execute backlogs of work; use data to ensure services are accessible, intuitive and simple
  • Engage with service areas across the organisation to help them understand agile ways of working as well as the business analyst’s skill set, and to help them articulate the possibilities in their area for digital transformation
  • Measure value and use qualitative and quantitative data to inform product development decisions. Translate the vision into prioritised, deliverable user stories backed up by evidence. Take considered, data-driven decisions and have the humility to learn from mistakes. Track and monitor product performance and user outcomes to iterate and improve on features
  • Use agile methodology and apply an agile mindset to all aspects of your work. Create a fast-paced, evolving environment and use an iterative method and flexible approach to enable rapid delivery
  • Create processes, scenarios and maps to help test new and redesigned services throughout their lifecycle
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of modern technology and data platforms, including the range of available technology choices. Make informed decisions based on evidenced user need and value for money
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and document business requirements, process flows, and use cases to support the design and development of IT solutions.
  • Identify and analyse existing business processes to optimize and improve efficiency, quality, and productivity.
  • Translate business requirements into technical requirements, including user stories and functional specifications, for the development team to create a technology solution.
